Translation is my primary occupation in this business. My specialization
area includes computers. I have translated several manuals, help files, and
software for computer peripherals and applications. I enjoy this subject a
lot because of my interest in computers. I took a course in Prolog while
studying towards my MA degree in Linguistics and worked on computer translation
of Turkish prepositional phrases into English and vice versa.
My areas of specialization include medicine, legal, business, marketing,
and telecommunications. My medical background
comes from the coursework as a student in Speech
and Hearing Sciences. I have translated research materials,
manuals on special care, pharmaceutical manuals and surveys in the area of
medicine and pharmacy. I have done several translations on law suits,
contracts, patents, bank documents, company profiles and networking.
My another area of specialization is general. I can cite safety manuals, warning labels, surveys, equipment manuals as examples of the projects I have done in this area.
I have been providing editing and proofreading services along with translation. My specialization areas that I mentioned in the translation section can be cited for my editing services too.
I have been providing interpretation services at courts of several counties in the Peninsula, California, at conferences and during personal business conversations.
I also provide desktop publishing and typesetting services. I use PageMaker to help me with the page layout and my design skills if needed.
